Prayer

“I began my quest by developing a rather unique prayer which I came to call the invocation of the disciple in search of the Light and Truth. First I prayed in the manner that Jesus taught: I prayed for the kingdom to come — for the bread of the morrow — for the power to forgive all people — and that I be released from my debts to my brothers and sisters who I have wronged in this life. I prayed for greater faith and knowledge, and the strength to overcome and walk in The Way. I then prayed for the Lord to take me into His Light — to protect, heal and cleanse me, and reveal to me His vision of what I saw.”

Shift in consciousness

“In the beginning, everything seemed normal. I would pray; I would mediate; I would contemplate; and I would come away feeling at peace with myself. Slowly, though, I began to feel what I can only describe as a shift in perceptive consciousness. It was as if I had begun to pray from a different place within my mind and being. This new experience brought a deep feeling of spiritual depth and tranquility.

After a period of time in deep prayer and meditation, I began to feel what I believed to be the Hand of the Lord upon me — and He would reveal to me a vision of myself from a more distant place deep within and beyond the normal layers of my consciousness. I realised that the point from which I could now see was from a place that was unfamiliar to my ordinary waking state — and yet, like one stricken with amnesia, I felt that it was a part of myself that I was somehow familiar with, and seemed to have previously known in a time that I no longer consciously remembered.”

Being in the light

“As I developed my affirmations, prayers, meditation and contemplation, the Light that I saw myself immersed in became stronger and more overpowering. The more I prayed and meditated in the Light, the more it seemed the Light engulfed me — to where it appeared that I could taste, smell and touch the Light, in addition to seeing and hearing what the Light was beginning to convey to me. Soon I craved my time in the Light — and I began to understand the scriptural edict to “Be still, and know that I am God” (Ps 46:10 KJV), as indicating the stilling of my own thoughts and mind so I could hear the “…still small voice” of the Lord (1 Kings 19:12 KJV).”

Inner dimension

“Each time I prayed and meditated, I would seem to move into this deeper place more quickly than the previous time. Moreover, the experience itself seemed to be taking on a new depth and profoundness. Slowly at first, I began to perceive Light emanating from what appeared to be an inner dimension of my being. I began to experience what St. Teresa of Avila described as interior castles. “The soul,” writes St. Teresa, is as “a castle made of a single diamond… in which there are many rooms, just as in Heaven there are many mansions” (Interior Castle by St. Teresa of Avila).

First I saw that because of the accomplishments of my soul in previous lives with regard to opening the inner doors of the mind, I fortunately inherited the genetics of my soul. To express this truth in modern terms: Because in other lives I had been there, and done that, it was much easier for the person I was in this present life to do it again.”

Kingdom within and parables

“What he impressed upon me was this great truth: Since the Kingdom was within the mind of man, and thus each person possessed a direct connection to the Father; to teach, in the manner of instruction, was to alienate the person from their inner source of knowledge.

He explained that the parable was the key to unlocking the mind — in that it forced the disciple to draw upon inner resources in order to discover the mysteries that lie hidden beneath the surface of man’s outer personalities. The paradox, Jesus taught, was the means by which man can contemplate the deeper things of God.”

Seek inward revelation

“This important New Covenant concept is almost totally missing from modern-day Christianity. Because we are unaware of the inner Kingdom and the pre-existent soul of man that has existed since the beginning of time, the focus of our religious experience is in reverse — from an opposite perspective — than what Jesus taught. Where we look outwardly, in an Old Covenant mode of learning, the followers of Jesus prepared themselves for an inward revelation. Moreover, because we do not perceive our inner, intimate connection with God, we fail to realize that man has the innate ability to not only contemplate, but to move in total harmony with God. Lacking today is the vision that man is truly the offspring of God, and this reality can only be realized when he begins to imitate his Heavenly Father.

What the modern Christian must come to terms with is that if we are indeed the prodigal sons of our Heavenly Father as Jesus taught, then we cannot return to the Kingdom until we fully embrace our own Godly essence.”

Power of God within

“When he would speak to me during moments like this, it was as if he were speaking from a point within me as well as without. When I first become cognizant of his presence in a multidimensional reality, I not only saw him grin, but I could feel him smile from somewhere deep within my being. Jacob, he said, the power of God is One. Therefore, the power of God that I manifest without you, is merely an extension of not only what is within you, but is the only Genuine Force in all of creation.

But Jesus, I said, you are here speaking to me now. I see you, and I can touch you. Then, in an instant, he vanished from my sight. And as I sat astonished, he again spoke to me — but I did not hear him with my ears, but rather with the ears of my soul. Jacob, I heard him say, I am always with you, and am always ready to teach you when you call upon me with the wholeness of your being in word, thought and deed. And then I felt his hand come upon me — but it was from somewhere deep inside — and he pulled me up and within to a place I had never been before, or even imagined existed. And I saw him, and heard him speak, and yet his lips never moved as he said: It is here, beyond the sacred door of your soul, that you must search for me, and find me. How, Rabbi-Teacher, how can I do this, I said? And I heard his voice come to me as if it were floating upon a wave of pure spiritual energy: By living in accordance with the Royal Law and manifesting the power of the Light — first in your own life, and then by using that Light as a guide to bring the children back home to our Heavenly Father.”

Inner light

“When the disciple who has cleansed his house from the defilements of this world hears the voice of the Lord, and opens the door to the inner Kingdom, the disciple is brought into the presence of “…the true light which… enlightens every man” (John 1:9 NAS) who walks in The Way.

This same Light that has been witnessed about by the spiritual men and women of every age, has been well documented and described as a being of Light by those who have experienced near death experiences in our own time — and has been responsible for altering the course of peoples lives who have been revived and brought back to life.”
